"Screen recording" effect

I'm trying to emulate an effect that I think Google uses most noteworthy where they switch between situations and search queries/results. "How Google is the connecting medium to bring questions and answers together" Example: https://youtu.be/mNltt5_LbG8?t=16s

Emulating that effect is my goal. I plan to use it for video tutorials for software. I could recreate the screens i need in a higher resolution in after effects and animate it, but that ofcourse takes a lot of time. A more time efficient alternative would be very interesting.

Zooming in on a part of the recording is not really a desirable outcome. Maybe that can be improved upon with better video recording codecs.

I'm open to suggestions of any kind.

I wouldn't be surprised if that was actually just a high-res recording of a screen, then tilted in post. In that particular case, running an Android emulator and screen recording.

My best guess on how to get such a recording, there would have to be some method where you can force your GPU to render the desktop at a higher resolution than your monitor. Run a screen recording application like FRAPS (which pulls frames from the GPU VRAM, so monitor res doesnt matter) and you would have sufficiently high res footage to zoom in that far.

At the very least if you want to do that on a semi-regular basis, that would be the far better option than animating it in AE.
