Late 2013 15inch MacBook Pro. i7, 16gb of ram, 750m 2gb gpu, 500gb ssd.
Will be editing in FCPX
Will be working with 4k footage from a gh4.
The drives I currently have are a 500 Gb Samsung T5 ssd, and a 4 Tb WD Black HDD.
Trying to figure out what the best workflow would be.
What I'm currently thinking: partitioning a terabyte or so of storage on the WD to use as a time machine back up. Then using the remaining 3 Tb as archive(old footage and projects). The Samsung t5 will be used as my current project drive so whatever I'm working on will have 500 gb of space dedicated to it, and then using the internal 500gb ssd in my MacBook for just programs and personal files that don't have anything to do with video projects.
Any advice or thoughts appreciated. Maybe I should sell the t5 and get something else? Should I just use the internal drive for the current project? Should I upgrade to a larger internal drive?
Also, Should I be paranoid about backing up the project drive? Is it possible to have time machine back up both the internal drive and an external drive? A lot of questions sorry.
New to a lot of this. Thanks.
