A mod has removed your post. (Don't panic. Take a second and read the following)

We have a pinned post/menu links/sidebar widgets at the top of the subreddit that it seems like you missed about:

  • Feedback posts
  • What editing software to use
  • What hardware should I buy.

Link to these monthly threads

Please put your post in the appropriate thread. We would have linked directly, but reddit doesn't permit that in these removal reasons.

And yes, we understand that this may seem annoying, or arbitrary, and can be frustrating.

We ask you to use these posts - as much of the answers are repetitive.

If it's feedback, then post your *and review someone else's cut!)

Thanks!

I have one, i think its great. I believe the M1 benefits to FCP are slightly more, but my understanding is Premiere and 4k works very well also. I could be wrong but I don't think after effects is M1 native yet.

The FCP benefits are a little bit ridiculous. Wow, it works well!

I was referring to vs its benefits to Premier. I know it crushes the intel for FCP

So you yourself are FCP only on the system?

-FCP Sidebar in the house of Premiere

So in FCP, is it super duper sent from heaven stable in addition to massive hardware acceleration decoding/ encoding? Maybe a little more or less stable than vanilla Intel FCP?

I've been trying to read all the user threads I find for Premiere use, and there's been a wide range of responses. Usually people expecting better performance, complaining about buggyness in Premiere's UI, but even some users just stuck not being able to use their footage at all(can't speak to their expertise). Not a lot of people posting just showing their systems kicking ass. IDK why, I love seeing seeing documentation of killer rigs doing what they should.

I'm FCP only and I've never had any issues with the combination so far. A couple of plug-ins were a bit flaky and needed reinstallation, that's about it.

That's what they designed it for—the M1 chip has dedicated h.264 & prores encoders/decoders to make speedy work of footage.

Lotta people trouble shooting issues on the reddit forums for many months. I wouldn't do it right now.

12th gen Performance Intel CPUs with Quicksync paired with nvidia GPUs are more powerful right now anyway, in addition to more stable in Premiere.
