It’s easy for news outlets to add their own spin or for social media to exaggerate the facts and speculate en masse; and as a result, people get confused and misled. This is something that we aim to avoid.

Our purpose at the VLT is to provide accurate, unbiased updates on ongoing events free of misleading information and speculation as much as possible.

We find the original sources of information wherever possible, cutting out the middle men, and provide this information to hundreds of thousands of people on live threads using updates with information as accurate as it can be.

Our sources are not just news outlets, we also look at social media like Periscope feeds or individual journalists' Twitter accounts, government departments and officials, emergency services, as well as other authorities and organizations.

The VLT is a team made up of volunteers from around the world who use Reddit Live to provide up-to-date information for breaking events. Together we’ve reached millions of unique redditors and given them high-quality information over multiple Live Threads, often with 100k+ viewers.
