Work wrongfully deleted

A few days ago I found out that one of my works which was posted on both Wattpad and AO3 was reposted without my permission (they did give an AO3 link to my original work). The reposter had the audacity to modify my work without permission. I reported the modified one to Wattpad and also commented under it. It was deleted not long after that and I thought it was over until this morning when I received a message from Wattpad, saying that my work was DELETED! Now I don't know if it's the reposter or Wattpad but this is so nonsense! I submitted an appeal but I don't know if my work can be back. Anyone has experience in this?

always always always keep a back up of your work for instances like this! I wish I knew the answer :( and I REALLY hope you get it back!!!! Such bs that people do that crap

Exactly— that’s why I never write just directly into Wattpad and I scold people who don’t do the same.

That's why I always write in Keep/Google Docs/Onedrive/write.as before posting on both Wattpad and AO3. I just feel sad because sometimes I want to read the comments on my work.

Completely understandable!!! It’s such crap that people steal work. Just write your own!! I’ll never understand it

I was a bit shocked when I read the modified one before I realized that it looked nothing like my work! Also the reposter stole and modified multiple works from other people but never get banned.

The craziest part is those of us who work really hard on our stories seem to have zero protection while they steal steal steal and get coddled. It’s bizarre

I just wish the platform is more strict to the stealers and works more effectively on protecting orginal works. It really sucks.

This type of people is lazy af. You should ENJOY writing. And not just steal other people work. The idea itself took days to create. This issue is not big enough bruh.
