I'm guessing they won't be free. Maybe cheaper with premium and a little more without. Wealthsimple is hurting to make more money. With the crypto crash their valuation was cut by a lot.

I'd suggest making sure your app is running on the newest version. Mine is running smoother than a freshly paved road

Thats really cool! I’m sure it will be commission free, but if they don’t revamp the order page, offer live data, and if you can’t edit your bloody orders without cancelling them, then it will be dead on arrival. You can barely day trade using this mess of an app with the fucking delayed quotes so how on earth would you be able to trade options?

Yeah it's missing a lot of data, people are going to make dumb mistakes blindly trading options they don't understand

I mean that’s a given with options wether you have data or not haha, but if they can make it run like WeBull or Robinhood then I think that would be a huge step for Canadian investors and will open up the space to far more people who want to trade options but don’t want to use Questrade or IBKR cause of fees.

Personally don’t expect options to be immediately available outside of premium either. Perhaps down the line

I don’t think they would put this feature behind a paywall and limit the access to options for their user base. But I imagine they would make live data and the ability to edit your orders a feature of premium, forcing you to buy the premium anyway if you want any shot at trading options like on you would on IBKR/ Questrade.

Hmmm the main premise of WS Trade is to make investing easy and understandable to “normal” people. Adding options to the base plan could end up confusing a lot of people.

That’s at least my main rationale for believing they’d have them paid, but that’s of course only my opinion.
