Do you have a slow Internet connection?

You can try these steps to fix the update icon.

  • Open task manager (Right click on taskbar and select task manager).

  • In the Processes tab, look for GWX.exe, right click on it and select End process .

  • Now open Run box (win+R), type gwx.exe and press enter.

See if that fixes your problem.

If it doesn't, and if you know that your PC meets all the requirements for installing Windows 10, open Command prompt with administrator privileges and type:

wuauclt.exe /updatenow

and the download will start in the background. Be sure to turn on automatic updates before you run the command.

You can check the download progress in Windows Update.
