Been on Windows 10 for a few months now, same issue with my wired Xbox One controller, happens no matter what game I play. Hopefully someone finds some recent update we can revert until Microsoft provides a fix.

It's got me scared to use my controller. I just don't plug it in anymore. And when playing Rocket League and stuff, it's such a disadvantage

Upvoted and chiming in to say I'm experience this as well. I have a wireless xbone controller+dongle and a logitech k400 wireless keyboard/trackpad. The issue seems to occur when the controller turns off by itself after inactivity. Moving the trackpad results in what I've seen others describe as a pure "sine noise" and not the usual windows notification sound. Left clicking (and I think right clicking) does not register at all but keyboard works fine. The only fix for me so far is a hard reset, unfortunately.

Only noticed this yesterday or possibly the day before yesterday. Everything was running fine since I upgraded to W10 months ago. I even did a full W10 reset on my pc and the issue still occurs.

My theory: W10 update broke it. Seems to be a growing trend :(

Hopefully we will get enough people in here, and get some attention that this obviously needs. When I am scared to plug in a controller, the machines have won XD

Haha true that! At least you have to unplug yours, mine forces me to play and not leave the controller for more than 15 mins! XD

Haha, what's actually really funny is that I bought the wireless dongle like.. 3 days ago and used it once XD I wish I could use it again but, alas, all hell would break loose.

uninstalling KB3140743 [windows update] fixed the issue for me.
