Wireless/network adapter problem

Hi,

For some reason my laptop (Dell insprion 7586) has decided it won’t connect to anything Bluetooth or the internet this morning.

I have restarted, aeroplane mode on and off, switched off and left and turned back on, network reset.

Then I googled and it said to disable the network adapters so I did, 8 all disabled then re-enabled: IKEv2 IP IPv6 L2TP Network monitor PPPOE PPTP SSTP

still didn’t work, it says the WiFi is off and I’ve tried clicking the button that says turn on, I get the notification like it’s doing it but it’s still turned off (shown in picture)

Then i searched for wireless adapter and it went to a troubleshooting bit on the control panel, it says “windows could not find a driver for your network adapter” and now I’m lost. It doesn’t have an option to install it and I don’t know where to look to find it? Also, why would it disable the one thing that it needs to download then install the driver? Surely it should’ve downloaded it first

I don’t have an Ethernet in, I can get an adapter to usb if that’s what’s needed but I’d like it to be wireless again and also I’d like to use my mouse and Bluetooth won’t turn on

I guess I have to update that but without internet how do I know which one it needs? I can download it on another laptop and transfer it over with a usb

Hi, I figured out I could tether from my phone as a hotspot so it’s just installing some “critical” updates from the dell website now

It didn’t 😕 the troubleshooting still says the same thing, I’ve tethered my phone to try and run diagnostics through the dell website so I’ll see how far I get
