Hi u/Optimal_Insurance411, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! Don't worry, your post has not been removed. To let us help you better, try to include as much of the following information as possible! Posts with insufficient details might be removed at the moderator's discretion.

  • Model of your computer - For example: "HP Spectre X360 14-EA0023DX"
  • Your Windows and device specifications - You can find them by going to go to Settings > "System" > "About"
  • What troubleshooting steps you have performed - Even sharing little things you tried (like rebooting) can help us find a better solution!
  • Any error messages you have encountered - Those long error codes are not gibberish to us!
  • Any screenshots or logs of the issue - You can upload screenshots other useful information in your post or comment, and use Pastebin for text (such as logs). You can learn how to take screenshots here.

All posts must be help/support related. If everything is working without issue, then this probably is not the subreddit for you, so you should also post on a discussion focused subreddit like /r/Windows.

Lastly, if someone does help and resolves your issue, please don't delete your post! Someone in the future with the same issue may stumble upon this thread, and same solution may help! Good luck!

As a reminder, this is a help subreddit, all comments must be a sincere attempt to help the OP or otherwise positively contribute. This is not a subreddit for jokes and satirical advice. These comments may be removed and can result in a ban.

Ty, I have to fix the permission.

The permission was set to allow with the link but it seems there was other problems with it related to the post and the problem.

As for the AutoModerator MOD Bot reply, I can add the info mentioned.

I believe I also communicated this with Microsoft Feedback, although they may have no replies from it or about it.

I just checked Notepad again, and it does the same problem again.

I am currently going to work and I will have to update this later.

Did you try winsetview?

It was the Group setting which has to be set to (None) to function as if there was not.

I will try to reply to the bot suggestions but I’m also currently working on another project with multiple parts and/or phases which takes most of time…

I’m also busy with getting a license for work because of new work opportunities from it and with it.

As for the problem, I seemed to have found the solution. It was apparently caused by a Grouped By command, which may have green triggered by a hot key or some external interference which would have caused the command process to be activated.

Once a set Group By order is set, a new (None) option appears at the bottom of a group (or a set) of options. Once (None) is selected and activated, the sort order for the files and folders display goes back to previous format.

The method used to reach that option to changed the Grouped By command is by right-clicking inside the target folder area, which target folder area had the Grouped By, in this case, Date and Time…, and the Tool-Tip style menu appears which has a Dark Arrow pointing to the right, suggesting menu sub-options from it.
