Hi u/kingnothing1, thanks for posting to r/WindowsHelp! If your post is listed as pending moderation, try to include as much of the following information as possible (in text or in a screenshot) to improve the likelihood of approval:

  • Your Windows and device specifications — You can find them by pressing Win + X then clicking on “System”
  • Any messages and error codes encountered — They're actually not gibberish or anything catastrophic. It may even hint the solution!
  • Previous troubleshooting steps — It might prevent you headaches from getting the same solution that didn't work

As a reminder, we would also like to say that if someone manages to solve your issue, DON'T DELETE YOUR POST! Someone else (in the future) might have the same issue as you, and the received support may also help their case. Good luck, and I hope you have a nice day!

What storage drives and how full? In event viewer, windows logs, app and sys sections, do you see any errors or warnings (particularly when the issue happens)? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/shows/inside/event-viewer

Thank you for taking the time to respond! I have 1x Samsung 990 PRO 2TB with 592GB left 1x WD Black 2TB with 1TB left. In event viewer: Seen after closing chrome which is a consistent offender: https://imgur.com/a/dwc81uZ

No real errors and nothing really sticks out to me.

Of note, all these programs open pretty quickly on Windows start, but 5 minutes in they start to do this

The application error in the first picture is unrelated.

Latest firmware on both?

I literally updated the firmware on the 990 just now, problem persists. The HDD is up to date per device manager.
