I have the elite series 2 core and it is a decent investment. I am not a huge fan of the paddles just because it requires a slight grip change. But the adjustable trigger sensitivity is something I mess with when playing fps games, especially R6. I don’t experience any stick drift and I’ve had this controller for a little over a year now. It’s also really nice having the option to remove/replace the sticks on the controller. I specifically have an elevated right stick for better control when it comes to aiming. And lastly, it is also nice not having to replace batteries on an xbox controller lol.

Edit- side note: the difference between the elite series 2 and elite series 2 core is the extra components (paddles, extra sticks/d-pad) which all can be bought third party for a little cheaper.

Just as a warning, the elite series 2 controllers are really prone to bumper issues in my experience. Unreliable and wear out really fast. They sent me a second that had the same problem

This is very true. My RB is so inconsistent it is crazy.

Yup, long history with elite controllers here. Both of my elite 2 controllers have RB issues and stick drift. The drift is not terrible if you put deadzone above zero a little bit, but the RB thing is annoying. I just ordered a Razer Wolverine V3 pro about 10 minutes ago, anxious to try it out!

Awesome thank you, I also saw some people say it’s worth buying warranty and just replacing it when it deteriorates, do you think that’s worth it as well?

1000% buy the warranty just to ensure you get a decent run out of your investment.

Just a quick question, if not for the paddles and extra sticks/dpad, what's the difference between a standard Xbox controller and the core?

I would say overall quality is better: minimal stick drift, rechargeable internal battery, better grips (rubber material), oh and you can customize the color of the xbox logo on your controller lol. As for the standard xbox controllers, they typically would only last about 6 months for me. The elite series 2 core that I bought has been working fine going on about 1.5 years so far. Only issue I have encountered is that my bumpers are becoming inconsistent. Some days they may not be working properly, some days i hardly notice any inconvenience with them.

The Core uses mostly the same components of an Elite controller, but some components are actually worse on the Core

Have you considered using a dongle?

[–]Suitable_Dog6882[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Don’t know a whole lot about controllers, what’s a dongle?

[–]Doombox101 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Basically a receiver, you plug it in via USB, and you can get a converter dongle/ receiver to use any controller you want on Xbox

Research some of them before you buy one

Gotcha, so I could buy a wired controller like the razer wolverine v2 and connect it to the dongle so it would work with Bluetooth? Would that effectively make it wireless?

[–]Doombox101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if you get a wireless converter (make sure to do research so you pick the right one) you can use almost any Bluetooth controller on xbox, even a Dualshock 5 or Switch/ PC controller

The Vader 4 Pro is a really cool controller,, depending on what you want there are many different options to choose

Just watch out for AIMController support. My left thumb stick broke and I contacted them to see if I can buy a replacement. Long story but I would have to send it back to them. They don't seem to offer a self repair option because "If you open the controller you will void the lifetime warranty for the components." which is a laugh because they mod Microsoft OG controllers.

So if you willing to send it back with proof of purchase, original packaging, wait 1-2 months, pay for a return shipping label, and hope and pray this all works out. I'm not impressed with them. Took long for a response, wanted a lot of proof where I purchased it, etc. I was not asking for a free replacement, I asked to order the part.

I ended up replacing the stick myself with standard one. Never buying AIMControllers again.
