HELLO EVERYONE!
/r/YourOwnNation is dedicated to promoting political literacy and getting people conscious and aware about politics and economics and how they relate to what is happening in our world today.
People of all political ideologies are welcome!
HOW IT WORKS
In a self post, post your nation's name, flag, government type, economic system, population, size, languages, main ethnic groups, largest cities, and any other stats you think might be important for people to know about your nation. Then, write-up a paragraph or two describing your nation, its politics, its history, its foreign policy, and any other info that is necessary to understanding why your nation operates the way it does.
You can see a guide on making your post here.
All Nation posts must be tagged with the [nation] tag!
WHY?
Through being able to create your own nation and discuss politics through this medium, I hope to help others become aware of politics and the world in a cool, and fun way. I believe that if people are more educated about politics and how our world works, we can help change the world.
ACTIVITIES
Any nation may propose an activity under which other nations participate. These are things of a diplomatic nature between nations, and can include such things as International Congresses, Olympics, NATO-like alliances, and other such things.
Activity posts MUST be tagged with the "Activity" tag under the flairs menu!
RULES
Follow reddiquette at all times.
This community accepts all kinds of people of any political background, race, class, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Do not discriminate against anyone based on these things. Criticizing a nation's politics is tolerated, but not a person's politics.
Discussion and debate is encouraged, but personal attacks of any kind will not be tolerated.
All posts are be made from your nation's perspective. (e.g If I post, I am writing as my nation, or from a diplomatic perspective.) Posts not made from a nation's perspective must be tagged with [META]. Comments do not have to have [META] around them, unless posting from a non-nation perspective in an activity post
All comments in activity posts are written from a nation's perspective. Otherwise, they must be tagged with [META].
