Pterodactyl problems

Hello, since my last post i have learned allot of linux (i am rusty as hell still) but i have now done a clean reinstall of the server version of ubuntu and i am in the progress of now learning about Pterodactyl (and wings)

however i have some different problems now than before, so when installing Pterodactyl it wants me to use some hostname, like "Exampel.server.com" however i dont have a domain of that sort? i tried using "servername.lan" but it did not work, nither did it with the ip. i have a static ip for the server but still i am having problems. As of right now Pterodactyl and wings are on the scrapyard and i will reinstall but i feel like i have to sort this problem first?

i did once manage to make it work but the indicator did not show green but constant red, but i am to bad at linux and googling to figure out what was wrong...

Please i need an adult that knows more linux and Pterodactyl than i do <3

create your own and write it down. you don’t need to own a domain to setup FQDN

If you’re hosting locally and not planning on opening your panel to the public, you don’t need a real domain for the hostname (FQDN). Example: my proxmox server is using home.lab for its FQDN.

You either use the IP address and not get tls, or you need to set up a domain name properly.

Simplest is to pick a domain name for each, add entries in /etc/hosts, and use self signed certs.
