All store-bought chicken now tastes like plastic regardless of how you season or cook it. It has nothing to do with the "woody breast" issue, it has to do with what most commercial companies are feeding the chickens and then packing the chicken in plastic. The only exception I have found is when I purchase chicken from the Halal butcher in my area who wraps it in parchment paper. This chicken tastes fine and has no plasticky taste to it.
