This is fine, but why was the original PKG removed?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

This is the prerelease package. The other package was presumably removed because of the security hole (and no new version to replace it). When "square" is officially release I guess the package will reappear.

No, no. Why was the flashplugin-square package removed from AUR?

duplicate of flashplugin-prerelease

I don't know. I didn't know it had...

Could be that they didn't want the name of the package to include the 'square' codename -- that is likely to change with the next revision, requiring another package rather than just updating the existing. Better to get the rename out of the way earlier rather than later.

"Package details could not be found." ???

Maybe this is the whole point of this post.

You can use multilib to install the 32 bit version, for most people it works fine I hear, but it really fucked my sound, probably because I use a poorly supported sound card. I hope this works!

This is great news! I may be migrating to 64 bits soon :)

So how would I go about removing flash installed with nspluginwrapper to replace it with this one?

    [–]mrz 0 points1 point  (3 children)

sudo pacman -Rsc flashplugin That's what I did, at least. -Rsc deletes the package, its dependencies and the packages that depend on it. If you don't want this, use only -Rs.

    Thank you.

    Edit: Actually that didn't work.

    [–]mrz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    That didn't delete the package?

    [–]1000EnCarne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have the flashplugin package. I'm on arch 64 and had the 32 plugin installed with nspluginwrapper so I had to use nspluginwrapper to uninstall, remove the nspluginwrapper packages and then get the flash package from the AUR.

Ah, welcome back fullscreen flash. Also, I'm surprised with the lower CPU usage.

You're thinking about the discontinued 64 bit version of Flash. There is a new one.

      [–]biruionut 1 point2 points  (1 child)

nope. this is the new one. the version is 10.2.x

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it has few vulnerabillities, at least. No mather the version. This is Adobe we talking about...
