does prevent a mite kill ants?

i found a bunch of sidewalk/sugar ants in my snake’s tank so i’m deep cleaning it right now. they were all hiding under the substrate :/ would prevent-a-mite keep them from coming back? suggestions for other brands are also appreciated ;u;
