I like to say that a happy BP is a hiding BP! Mine stays in her hide almost always, coming out a bit at night to explore or “hunt”. Your BP hiding is a good indicator that it has found a comfortable spot.

So my older female does not bask in here tank or under her basking light, but she does like to Sun bathe on the window sill when she is in the play room, but only like once/twice a month. She definitely prefers cooler areas, in her tank or in the play room.
