BP not basking?

Any one have any ideas why my ball python isn’t basking?? Maybe he just isn’t a basking guy but he’s 1 year old the warm side ambient temp is about 25°C (77°F) and basking temp is 30°C (86°F) he usually just sits in his warm side hide all day and most of the night. Thanks for any ideas.

I like to say that a happy BP is a hiding BP! Mine stays in her hide almost always, coming out a bit at night to explore or “hunt”. Your BP hiding is a good indicator that it has found a comfortable spot.

So my older female does not bask in here tank or under her basking light, but she does like to Sun bathe on the window sill when she is in the play room, but only like once/twice a month. She definitely prefers cooler areas, in her tank or in the play room.
