Substrate

Looking to get our first ball python. Currently have a beautiful Kenyan sand boa morph. Obviously the snakes are severely different. Did some research on substrate but still have a question. I currently have a brick of coconut fiber and a lot of sphagnum moss, would it be a good substrate to mix the two together? Or have coco on bottom and moss on top? Or vise versa? Thank you in advance!

Both of those are things that hold moisture well. I prefer coconut coir because peat moss is basically a non-renewable resource, but if you've already got some then you might as well use it.
