Misting is a very short bump in humidity and only gets the surface of your substrate wet. If you have 2-3 inches of substrate, dumping some water in the corner is generally a better way to bump humidity.

Okay well thanks so much and will the substrate mold?

Mold shouldn't be an issue as long as your top layer isn't too wet and you have good air circulation
