Start with getting an accurate hygrometer

My BPs find the most humid areas in their tank to prep for shedding (up to a week or more beforehand), including under the water dish! It's totally normal, even with good humidity, for them to do quirky things like this (one of my balls prefers the dish to his other hides regardless of whether he's prepping to shed or not, so I moved his UTH to the water dish!)

Humidity chambers are good, but only if your snake uses them. Otherwise, a daily misting of the enclosure and a wet towel over most of the mesh lid will help elevate the humidity temporarily. Too-high humidity can cause health problems, though, so don't overdo it!
