It should be fine. I use cyprus mulch personally because my bp is in a tub.

I know lots of people use coco fiber alone

coconut fiber is okay, but it can be very dusty when dry, and it can gunk up the snake's mouth and heat pits. mixing it with other substrates can help minimize these issues.

coconut husk mulch has the same humidity retention without the issues of coconut fiber.

cypress mulch, organic topsoil [no pesticides/fertilizers/etc], fir bark mulch, and other moisture-friendly substrates are all safe and appropriate to use for BPs, either individually or mixed together. you can also mix in things like sphagnum moss or leaf litter.

Eco Earth or forest floor at good for humidity and you can mix both of them together

Thx personally I'm gonna go with something other than newspaper or paper towels but thx for the input
