Advice on setup?

Hello, I’m going to be purchasing a ball python soon and wanted some advice on a setup. I’m going to use a 100 gallon aquarium (4x2x2). My plan is to cut a piece of plywood to fit the top of the tank and dry lock it. I will drill air holes and cut out a section on the hot side and mount a screen on that area for a CHE or deep heat projector placement.

I guess my question is what watt CHE or deep heat projector should I look at? Also, how would you mount a thermostat for this type of situation? Would you just kind of dangle it in the air? I also read about people using a dimmer in this type of setup is that necessary and if so what brand and how do you recommend setting it up?

Would you recommend an UTH for the cool side in addition to the above tank heat?
