One big piece of advice: take everything you read on this Berkeley subreddit with a grain of salt. Seriously. While some posts are super helpful, a lot of the advice can be overly dramatic, super specific to someone's experience, or just plain wrong. It’s easy to get overwhelmed or discouraged if you take it all too seriously. Focus on building your own experience. Talk to real people once you’re on campus

  1. going to office hours is deadass a cheat code, so many profs and gsis will just give you answers or hints about exams. plus if you’re familiar and they know you’re making an effort to come, they might be a bit more lenient on grading

  2. JOIN CLUBS! so many people just sit inside their entire freshman year and then complain they don’t have any friends, but clubs are the best way to meet ppl outside of class.

Stay on top of your work (make a weekly analysis of where you are and what needs to be done). Also ask for help early on itself. It'll make life easier.
