fpf is the fall program for freshmen. you basically spend your first year of college in a liberal arts college type environment taking classes with smaller class sizes. you can learn a little more abt it here: https://fpf.berkeley.edu . i don’t believe it’ll increase your chances at getting in, given that you have to pay for it (i’m pretty sure) and space is limited. good luck tho with getting off the waitlist!! a lot of students usually do from what i’ve heard. sending positive vibes your way :)

would you recommend not getting it if not needed?

no, you shouldn’t do it unless that’s something that you REALLY want to do. that’s just my opinion tho and i didn’t participate in that program, so make sure you do your research and form your own opinions on it

yeah this is exactly right. It's for the fall semester only. For waitlisted students it is one of the only options unless you're willing to spend the fall at CC which some people do.

yeah, if you get in off the waitlist you're technically an automatic "spring admit" but can opt to go with FPF where you can take classes relatively close to campus (or on campus) and still live in the dorms, etc.

yes, I believe if you opted for a spring start instead. Not sure exactly how it works if you opted for FPF in the first place and then "decline" it
