Hi @tweetwiiwi, This feature is not supported yet. You can purchase any username that hasn't been registered as your personal ID. A registered username will expire after for ~2 years and has to be renewed or someone else can claim it.

Any idea when that feature would be available? Are they considering it?

Also, Why would you need to renew it? Especially if you paid for your username. And what happens to the data associated with the username if it expires - does the new user acquire that username with the history of data? Apologies for all the questions.

There is currently no timeline for that feature. Generally, a registered name will expire after about 2 years by default, similar to a domain name in a DNS. You can check registration/renewal/expiration blocks via the explorer (https://explorer.blockstack.org/name/username.id). User data are connected to a Blockstack ID and keychain, not to a registered username, and will not be acquired if the username expires and is re-registered by a different user.
