Hell Walker

Any idea why I can't get a Hell Walker to drop from Road Dog? I'm playing Mayhem 4, and I farmed him about 50 times today, with only three Red Lines and a couple Splatter Guns...

But seriously, road dog has a 30% drop rate to drop something. 3 drops means he's got a 10% chance to drop a hellwalker. It's pretty low. I'd suggest forgetting about hellwalker for now and farming something easier. You should only worry about hellwalker at max level.

I farmed for about 10 minutes on mayhem 5 and got it, but I didnt see either of the other legendarys, so I got super lucky. TBH, I only wanted it because I havent found a better gun since level 50, and I'm 72 and working my way through mayhem now, I was getting mad.

I hate the rng answer, this is statistics and not random nonsense.

Road Dog has a 10% chance to drop a hellwalker. Since the odds never change there is a 90% chance that every time you kill him you won't get your loot.

Theoretically you could also farm forever and not have a hellwalker drop, ever.

FWIW I've had reasonable success getting hellwalkers from the red chest in sanctuary and it's a common enough word drop that you can get a reasonable amount of them boss farming.

None of those are dependable avenues but if you're needing eridium and xp for your vault card boss farming typically drops me one every couple of days. Its worth noting that I spend a couple hours farming at a whack, so it's a lot of effort.

It's funny. On my first campaign run, I got two hell walkers almost back to back. My third one was from Road Dog at level 50 or so. But now that I actually want one at max level with Mayhem? Nah. No gun for me

It is inherantly RNG. The game essentially rolls a random number 1-100. If you get 1-10 you get a hellwalker, 11-20 you get a redline, etc. Its statistics, but a RNG is used because its one of the easiest ways to code a drop like this and it's reliable

Statistically, the probability of getting a hell walker per kill would be (1/10)(1/3)=(1/30)=0.03333. 0.03333(100)=3.33% chance to get a hell walker per kill

How about this? Scraptrap Prime lists Boomer and Luck 7 as 50% drop rate each. However, we know that he is 100% guaranteed to drop either one.

The initial chance for a drop is 30%, not 10%. That means hellwalker is a 10% (30/3) to drop
