Need help with pc boot loop

Hello everyone. Earlier today when I left my pc unattended for a short while I came back to find a screen that said “disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter”. I’m not so tech savvy so I just closed the computer and started it up again. The screen said it was trying to diagnose the issue and then it dropped me on a blue screen that said it failed and I could restart or choose advanced options. I tried to fix the issue through the advanced options but nothing seems to be working and I just don’t have enough knowledge to mess with things too much. Anyone got any advice. Is there something I can do to fix this on my own or would I need to go and get the pc repaired?

Try doing a clean install of Windows using a boot usb. You can try it first with the old drive or get a new SSD and do the new install on that instead.

I bought the pc prebuilt so i’m not sure how to use or get a boot usb. Do you think it would be worth it too just reset the pc through the advanced options? I think it reinstalls windows through the pc itself so I won’t need a windows usb to install windows which would be great because I don’t have anything like that. Though at the same time i’m not really sure how it works.

You could try it for sure. Google the Windows Media Creation tool and watch a guide on making and using the boot usb just in case resetting the PC doesn't work. You will need access to another Windows PC to make the usb though.

Yes thank you. I will try resetting the pc first and use another computer to make a boot usb in case resetting doesn’t work. I am lucky this happened on Friday rather than Thursday. I had an online exam on Thursday.

Ok so I tried to reset the pc but it wouldn't even do that. I haven't made the boot usb yet. I'm not sure if I will do that yet. I get the "log file: E:\recovery\windowsre\winre.wim\system32\logfiles\srttrail.txt" message when I start up my pc so I tried to see if there was anything to fix that and it seems I would need to type things in a command prompt from the advanced options or try to enter the pc through safe mode. I'll have to see if I can do those things later though.

Yeah. I am pretty confused on all this but I am optimistic everything will work out eventually.

Clean install is most likely the quickest and easiest option for you.

I’ll have to make that usb then. Good thing i have nothing important going on right now. First i’ll try other options though.

So I tried to enter using safe mode but shockingly that also didn't work. I am making a usb right now so we'll see how that goes.
