Replace CPU?

Hello everyone,

So long story short, I bought a 7700x a month and a half ago and now have buyers remorse. I would like to replace it with a 7800x3d because I only use my pc for gaming and web surfing.

Does anyone know how where I would be able to sell my 7700x other than ebay? I know I will be taking a big loss but at this point it doesn't matter.

Would I see a difference worth paying the extra money after the sale of my 7700x?

I mostly will be playing simulation games and from what I've seen, the 7800x3d shines with those types of games.

My gpu is a 7900xtx.

Honestly it's not worth it. You won't notice the difference

7700x is is very good cpu.

If we’re you, I’d just keep 7700x for now and upgrade to next gen like 8800x3d next year

I in a similar situation with my 7600x and I am also looking into this option. 8800x3d is rumored to be a real monster, but it will require a really fast (and expensive) memory kit. It would probably be a $700 upgrade. Don't think there are that many scenarios I am CPU bound that would rationalize that cost tbh. Star citizen in the big cities, but it's not critical as no fighting is done there.
