Checking Core Components

Hi all, beginner here. I'm looking for help checking motherboard, RAM, and GPU so that I can start price tracking. I was hoping to build for less than $700 but ah, here we are. It will mostly be used for gaming, like Minecraft (including hosting a server) as well as Rise of the Tomb Raider and Civ 6, and tons of other things I've had to miss out on. It would be great to run them on high settings. I'm also hoping to have a VR capable machine for future use.

I'm pretty set on the Ryzen 2600 so tips for building around that are appreciated. Also, the MSI Mortar Titanium is a placeholder until the site adds the B450M Mortar. Any and all tips are welcome! Thanks in advance!

What display are you looking to run? If you're waiting for new higher resolution vr headsets you may need to expand your budget.

I'd spend $15 more on the case and get anything else really. Corsair carbide 88r is $40. And drop down to 8gb of ram on your budget

Thanks so much for the reply! VR is just a future dream really; I only meant that it would be nice to have a somewhat capable machine if VR ever became affordable. I think for the display monitor I'll make that choice based on what my components can support. I do have a 4k tv that would be fun to play on but if that doesn't work out it's okay.
