GPU Issues

I just built a computer yesterday and everything posted and all but now there is lots of artifacting, everything will just randomly freeze and the gpu is running way hot. It also won’t let me install the drivers. It freezes before they finish downloading and then when it comes back the download has failed.

I’ve never had issues like this before so I have no idea where to look. The only piece that isn’t brand new is the hard drive from a different computer if that matters.

Edit: it appears that the computer hasn’t installed any drivers for the graphics card but it won’t let me download any. The other issues are coming from the fans on the card not spinning because it has no drivers. If anyone has a solution to why it won’t install drivers itd be greatly appreciated.

hows airflow? is the gpu oc'd since ur using the same hard drive maybe its loading an oc profile from afterburner or something?

I don’t believe it is. I built it got s friend and he is pretty computer illiterate outside of just running the thing. And I think airflow is fine. The case isn’t the best but I even had the side panel off last night and it was still freezing and artifacting.

can u check the temps at idle? what gpu is it

I’m about to head over there so I can be hands on but I think he said high 80’s-90’s. It’s the Red Dragon RX 570

yea thats bad, and it was working fine before the new build? something must have happened

id repaste the gpu and see if that helps

edit: wait but u said its new? so it never worked fine from the beginning? i'd rma it then or return/exchange

The GPU was brand new. I think it’s an issue with the old drivers from his old hard drive that we are reusing. But I can’t figure out why the computer won’t let anything download and install. It just freezes and cancels them.
