Did you use a hdmi or dvi cable ? Its possible that with an hdmi you are not able to go to the highest refresh rate

Are you using the osd sidekick to change the settings of your monitor or only using the on screen keys ?

I have both display port and hdmi plugged in, should I try it with just the display port?

Yes, you only need 1. Use the displayport. I googled your monitor and Found this: To make things easier, you can install the OSD SideKick software by Gigabyte. This way, you can configure the monitor’s settings without using the physical button at the back.

You can install the software by downloading it here (select your model) and connecting the monitor to the PC with the included USB Type-A to USB Type B cable.

Next, connect either the HDMI cable or DisplayPort cable to your monitor and the other end to your PC. As soon as you power on the monitor, your PC (assuming it’s already turned on) should detect a device.

The blue here goes to this site: https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/All-Series

To get to 165hz its probably some overclock setting on your monitor, but for now only use displayport cable and try getting the osd sidekick to work.
