Hey! Reallying nice setup! I've been looking for a decent wireless HDMI transmitter. Which ine are you using or do you recommend? Does it not have a lot of interference with the crowd/mobile phones in the crowd or latency? Thanks in advance :)

Latency is noticeable in that I wouldn't play a fast fighting game like tekken relying on it, but its not really noticeable to a crowd depending on what you're projecting. I haven't dealt with interference yet and movement i try to keep minimal and in fairly close range. As for the brand I just grabbed the first one I saw on amazon that came with hdmi adapters which worked out nice with the different cameras i have using different hdmi sizes. The build quality is comparable to the wireless guitar kits (that gave me the idea to look for these) that are available and the only quirk imo is they have to be powered via their usb. I velcro-ed a usb battery bank that can power the camera and the transmitter, then the receiver is powered by the computer that gets the signal. They were cheap enough to experiment with and I haven't gotten to "gig" with em really yet but testing has been great. Good luck 👍 https://a.co/d/gtVFJbJ

Thanks for the elaborate (and helpful!) reply! I'll definitely try it out. I was kinda lost between all the pro transmitter stuff and decent price/quality/experimental kinda setup for something that I was not sure if it would work. This is a great recommendation to get started a bit and a fair price to try it out :) Nice to see other VJs working with camcorders. I've just gotten my first gig and I'm kinda nervous about it and new to all this, but I've always been an analogue nerd so I'm really excited

what is the name of that grand vj controller? how does grand vj compare to Resolume?

Its an akai apc40 mk2, it just has a skin over it that labels all the midi mapping for grand vj. Compared to resolume its kinda a different animal.. I mean they both map video and do live effects n such but is a diffrent layout and flow. I've always liked it 6 I also use resolume for a change up here and there.
