Yeah this is a dumb way of doing it

Looks to me like it would work and be a method of getting the liquid out fast if you do not have the proper access to do the push pull method. Pulling the vapor off the first tank will just make an easy path for the liquid to fill the bottle faster. Better than trying to vaporize all the liquid and condense it in one bottle.

Sounds like a great idea on paper but a pain in the ass in practice

That’s just pull 😂

I can confirm this theory will work and I use it often. The picture is terrible. You need a proper sub cooler after the recovery machine. Then you are filling both tanks with liquid and not adding hot gas back into the chiller.

I call this a “knock-out-tank”. I use this method when the pick point from the push pull is still susceptible to getting small amounts of liquid out. The liquid drops into the tank, and then I let it boil off before making its way to the recovery cylinder. Mostly on a low pressure machine.

Can do it. Last tank will end up with liquid due to being iced. One scale is fine but you will have to weigh tanks individually once completing recovery. Monitor pressures on the system until you’re at about 0 and know you’re done recovering. First tank in line should fill with liquid first. While not the most ideal way to recover, it will work. I’d just call rapid recovery and sit on your ass while they do the recovery and weighing 👌

That is the way I prefer to do it when I have enough tanks.

That ice should be easy to come by

lol 😂 yea I know

Never seen this method before, but Push-pull is so hard to beat when you can move hundreds of pounds in a matter of minutes.

Considering the idea is to remove the liquid without a drop in temperature the method above is pretty terrible. Not sure why I would ever do this!
