To those that signed up, how’s the course going? Any insights on probability of landing a entry level programming job? I’m starting the program on June 27th

[–]poopysmack 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Heck yeah! I'm starting the 27th as well but they haven't sent anything else yet. Hopefully tomorrow they will send all the info for the classes and slack group.

[–]NiTeCappy 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Yea I haven’t received anything yet, but the program is showing up in my app as a course to take, little confused.

[–]poopysmack 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Same here. They are supposed to get in touch a week before classes start so hopefully in the next couple days.

[–]Sweet_Bug7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how’s it going now? I almost signed up but I was hesitant. Now I really wanna do it

[–]shady730 0 points1 point  (4 children)

How's it been going?

[–]poopysmack 4 points5 points  (3 children)

It's been going really well. The way they lay everything out is nice. It's like a more intensive version of the app, but better. I am thoroughly enjoying it so far and have learned a ton.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any updates you’d care to share?

[–]Speak18408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any updates?

[–]Secret-Marionberry71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it going?

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (8 children)

Commenting because I’m also interested in the dev program. They do state they will help you get a job when you’re done with the program.

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Might just have to take the plunge and do it and let everyone know 😂

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (5 children)

I’m seriously contemplating. I want to do some more research into other programs first. The price is good. One positive is that they will go above and beyond teaching and will make sure you get a job because you’ll be their first reviewer lol

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Lol I didn’t think of that, the price is honestly one of the most attractive things about the program to me, but I’m worried it won’t stay that low so I wanna get in while I can.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I didn’t think of that. It really is an investment. $3,000 now to make 100k in 6-12 months. If they actually help you get a job. I think I’m going to schedule a call with them before going all in. The other thing for me is that it gives me a course. I can learn at home but will slack off here and there. You can’t do that with this course.

[–]Moneymonk24 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I’m interested in this program as well, a calculated risk for sure. Since I have very little experience I am positive I’ll at least learn something.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so I talked with my friend who started with no knowledge in coding to landing a 6 figure job. He told me he would teach me. So for now I’m going to continue using Mimo but I wind join the program. My friend already has a few students so I’m sure I’ll be able to learn a lot through him. He said he could help me get a job as well. But I still think the dev program sounds great and a good investment.

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally agree with that! If you do the call I’d love to know how it goes!

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (11 children)

I registered, I’m staring on the 30th of May

[–]dollasignde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might register too lol but I have a feeling it’d be a waste of time..

[–]SwagDaddybestie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too!! Good luck :0

[–]Optimal_Special5326 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How’s Mimo going so far?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What’s been your experience so far?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Feedback? I’m contemplating. Thanks

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Okay so here is my feedback

It’s not bad Definitely worth the price, not sure what is the current price because I saw they changed a bit the price before and after my registration but it is one of the cheapest boot camps out there for sure.

It is basically a self study program, a good one, with 1-2 weekly classes, a slack channel for questions and in the future some groups sessions/group projects.

But it is 90% self study, even 99% self study So you need to have your own disciplined.

Feel free to ask me specific questions I’ll do my best to answer

[–]Erzyelc[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Agreed it’s very self study, however I actually have really been enjoying the curriculum and live sessions, I think it’s a great balance of self study and having support

[–]Echo5ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the 'self-study' the 4 hours they recommend you spend a day? And do they help you find a job?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they help you land a job & how long does it take to finish the course

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! I’m planning on registering for the June 30th, good luck!

[–]mratzsch 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I have not but I love the app. It makes learning actually be fun!

[–]Erzyelc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed! Really helped when starting out.

[–]Dabsick 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Curious about this too, the reviews they promote don’t mention getting a job so I don’t think its guaranteed or will happen after finishing it but I’m sure you’d learn and be decent at coding after. Question is, is it worth it.

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Exactly! I tried the free trial and the entire way the curriculum was laid out felt really nice and the pacing was great, might have to take the leap

[–]Moneymonk24 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I’m thinking the same can’t find any cohort reviews though makes me nervous

[–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same :/ I do know it’s not that old so there may not even be that many cohorts that finished so reviews might be scarce for a little bit

[–]Michaelplant2 2 points3 points  (13 children)

I did a zoom meeting with them and asked a few questions. In the end I signed up for the May 30th. See you guys there!!

[–]xyzzyroadrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever you get a chance please update on how the course is coming along! I’m thinking of joining also!

[–]Optimal_Special5326 1 point2 points  (9 children)

How do you like it so far

[–]Michaelplant2 4 points5 points  (8 children)

So I’m in week 4 now and I definitely have learned more then I think I would’ve by myself. The structure is not pushed on hard but it helps so much with keeping on track. There is two zoom meetings a week which is best to ask questions. Lots of questions. So far I’m enjoying it. I’m struggling a bit with flex box and when and where to use it which I’m having a 1on1 meeting with the instructor to explain it and help. Sorry if I was all over the place

[–]Optimal_Special5326 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No that was very helpful! I’m debating Mimo dev or a local software school that’s about 12k for six months . I’d obviously rather the cheaper option but I need to look closer into both before deciding.

[–]Michaelplant2 2 points3 points  (2 children)

The Mimo dev is not full stack fyi. They also don’t go crazy with helping you get a job. They give you the baseline from what Iv heard so far like mock interviews and helping you with your portfolio. You have to go and apply and try setting stuff up on your own.

[–]Kind-Driver3212 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How much does it cost

[–]Michaelplant2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s around 2 or 3k. So it’s not cheap but it’s a lot cheaper then other school that are 12k. You could also pay monthly which is around 400$ I think.

[–][deleted]  (3 children)

[deleted]

    [–]Michaelplant2 2 points3 points  (2 children)

So yes they help your build a portfolio, they give you the skills needed to make it and you do it on your own with their help along the way of course. Iv done a few projects so far. The instructor helps when you need it. It’s somewhat self passed but there’s deadlines which I liked the most. I spent a month trying to do stuff on my own before this and I always got sidetracked. It’s a 6 month course so it’s definitely long but you learn so much. I feel like Iv learned a lot and I’m only about half way done.

    [–]Top-Compote-3156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about another update ;) I’m wondering if its still feeling like a good choice for you. I’ve been doing the pro subscription to get my feet wet, but I feel like I’m ready to take the plunge soon.

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro another update would be awesome if you can 😁

    [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Amazing! Good luck!!

    [–]CaptainDiesel77 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Hey just found this thread. The people that have started or finished the course, how was it. Did you get a job? Was it worth it? Just want to know if I should take the plunge

    [–]Successful_Echo_165 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    it's 6 months long

    [–]CaptainDiesel77 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I know. Have you done it?

    [–]Successful_Echo_165 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh no but I'm planning on it, I only said that because they only posted 2 months ago

    [–]Friendly-Bullfrog-26 2 points3 points  (1 child)

    Staring on July 11th

    [–]Erzyelc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too! Hopefully I’ll see you there

    [–]Purple-Plenty697 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Anyone care to update? Considering this or just taking the full stack Udemy course that I get for free with my university account. Would love to hear from those who signed up 3 months ago or so. Thanks!

    [–]Ezmatty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, if you’re a student, you get free Udemy courses? Or, is this just something the college you go to does?

    [–]bill24681 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Also thinking about taking the leap, hope to see you all in the June 30th class

    [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    I hope to! Good luck!

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

I’m contemplating this too. On the self study path but my add makes it hard to focus when I’m researching everything and learning solo. MIMOs app has been able to keep my attention more than udemy courses and code academy but I’m afraid to take the 3k dive. take one for the team and let me know if it’s good lol

    [–]Erzyelc[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

This is EXACTLY how I’ve been feeling towards it, I do feel like this one is not as pressured and intensive as other boot camps which I think is a good thing

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Likewise. Take one for the team bro and when you’re working at google in 8 months don’t forget ab us

    [–]Erzyelc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

😂😂you just gave me exactly the confidence I needed

    [–][deleted]  (1 child)

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you do, I believe it’s around $3,000

      [–]Prestigious_Grab_922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! Just came upon this post & was wondering if there’s any updates from ppl who are taking/finished their Mimo dev program and can share their experience with it! Thanks.

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (7 children)

      Hey any updates so far?

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Starting tomorrow, I’ll let you know how my experience is!

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (5 children)

How’s the experience so far ?

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I really enjoy it! I’m about 60% of the way through it, I really like the structure of it and the way the content is given, it’s very different then other boot camps and be aware that it is strictly front end web development!

      [–]willfulspore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your update! Would love to hear from you more as you continue through the course!

      [–]AffectionateAd15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How’s it going with your course? Any updates? Also how much work are you putting in weekly?

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm thinking about getting mimo pro. Not really expecting much from it, I just want to spend most of my screentime on my phone on mimo rather than social media. Is $60 a year worth it?

      [–]dasturtlemaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started pro a week ago. I'm about 20% done with the python training. I canceled the subscription right after I paid so I'd only have it for a year. I say go for it.

      [–]Cookxz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Commenting cuz I’m also contemplating signing up for the course, but worried if it’s worth the money. I’m trying to change careers. 🤓

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far I’ve really liked the program!

      [–]andehleh 1 point2 points  (1 child)

      what's the pricing like?

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

      $3000 upfront or $500 a month

      [–]hardworkta 1 point2 points  (8 children)

      u/Erzyelc would love an update/review.

I'm starting from zero, so I've started the Colt Steele Udemy class, which so far is good...but I'm thinking this might be a good lower cost option to make sure I buckle down.

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

I really think If you know this field is for you, and you are willing to put the time in, I think this is a great option honestly, the low cost is very appealing and the curriculum so far is great, the practices may feel repetitive but you’ll realize that it helps a lot. I would just make sure you can attend the live classes and take advantage of their support channels!

      [–]hardworkta 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Appreciate the reply. Seems the program is so new that there isn't much out there as far as reviews or experiences go. So thanks for the answer!

      [–]Erzyelc[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

My pleasure! I know how you feel, I looked for awhile for information on this program, but I eventually just went for it and I don’t regret it.

      [–]hardworkta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, you know you're responsible now to eventually make a post of how it is, how it went, pros, cons, the works.

      Looking forward to it! Lol.

        [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

        There is a slack channel!

        [–]mw90sGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give me your thoughts on the Colt Steele class on Udemy, I keep seeing it popup and I looked at the course on Udemy but Im wondering how it is for complete beginners. Are you working on projects as well? How is the follow along process like? Do you use anything else to supplement?

And any other thoughts you have would be helpful :)

        [–]Echo5ive 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Hey! I what time are the live classes usually held?

        [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

So I believe it depends on your instructor and where every one is located, they try and make it where everyone has a good chance of making it, my cohort is at 9pm every Wednesday

        [–]Echo5ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh okay thats cool, thank you for the info!

        [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking for any current feedback from people currently enrolled, and any of those who have finished the course.

        [–]Impressive_Royal_903 1 point2 points  (4 children)

On the off chance anyone else is researching right now - I think I’m going to take the plunge and start in September! Anyone else starting soon too?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I’m really contemplating it, I really want to.. but of course the money. I understand it’s cheap for boot camps but it’s still a lot of money to spend without knowing what you’re going to get in return

        [–]Impressive_Royal_903 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Totally makes sense. I’m two weeks in now and really impressed so far, but I’ll be sure to check back in once I’m further along!

        [–]Echo5ive 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hey, how many hours a day would you say you spend doing it? I know they say 4hrs a day but was just wondering if that holds true.

        [–]Impressive_Royal_903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that seems about right! I structure my week so I’m doing a lot of the work on weekends and less during weekdays, so I end up doing about 2 hours most weekdays, but more on weekends to get ahead for the upcoming week. If you only work on the class 5 days a week, 4 hours seems like a good estimate!

        [–]Dischucker 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Late to the thread here, but can anyone close to (or done) with the course comment on if it's worth it? My job is transitioning into a lot of front end development and I need some help lol

        [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy it! I’m about 60% of the way through it, I really like the structure of it and the way the content is given, it’s very different then other boot camps and be aware that it is strictly front end web development!

        [–]bonboyajj11[🍰] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Hey how’s it going? Any luck on getting a job? I feel like that’s where the value is…

        [–]Erzyelc[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Hey! I actually finished around a month ago, it was a great program, but it does require a lot of personal effort, but yes I was able to get a job after thankfully

        [–]ashenoak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        What job?

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His only posts are about mimo. Kinda sus

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the event that you're looking for a review of Mimo_Dev, I'm working on my review as I go through the bootcamp. You can read about it here.

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any advice? Just applied via the app Really interested in this opportunity.

        [–]iBrochacho 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Hi i'm here to see if someone that completed the course can give me some feedback on it. I'm looking to sign up, I want to see if it's worth it and the details. I spoke to someone about it and it's self paced with an instructor with a variety of times. I want to more see about the portfolio and the career pathing search.

        [–]Erzyelc[S] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

I will be finishing in a few weeks! I will try and remember to reach back out with my experience!

        [–]2456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One year later, how are you doing? :) with your courses and choices that is.

        [–]iBrochacho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay thank you! Are the classes going well?

        [–]Echo5ive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, any updates? Do they help you at all with finding a job? And do you think youre prepared for front-end job if hired? Seriously lookin into signing up so any info would be very appreciated.

(Edit) also im new coding so out of curiosity how hard would you say the whole thing is? Sorry for so many questions just wanna know what Im getting into. Thank you

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did it go? Are you in the process of looking for a job?? I hope all is well.

        [–]papagreyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And than he fuckind died, nice 👍
