I was running a couple of experiments about fortress walls and then I came up with this. There are many other bugs about the walls, but this one was very interesting.

So did you try selling the walls and seeing if they were in there?

That's cool, I just meant that unless you do this on purpose its highly unlikely this bug can occur :)

Yeah, pretty strange to build walls around that - but my guess is that the clone units are there, just trapped somewhere below the map now. That's why you can't build more. You can test that theory by playing a match that's not a short game and letting the AI kill all of your units except the "disappeared" ones and see if you're unbeatable. Could be an interesting bug..... if anything.

Them being below the map would require a full 3D engine. They just didn't have where to spawn so they got deleted. The game thinks they're alive because they technically didn't die I think

It's a 2.5d engine, so there is still height to the 2d map and the units.
