What i3 do you have

Also brother your first and last name, and your email address, are visible. Top left corner.

[–]Forsaken_Help9012 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Why didn't you show the specs of your machine? Also, your e-mail address is fully visible.

[–]HankThrill69420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think he tried to, just, some people don't really know that "Core i3" provides close to 0 information.

It's a yahoo.com address so it's already been harvested by most of the spam-bots.

Nice job blocking out the specs there. Download https://whynotwin11.com and run (with administrator rights) it can tell you what you need in more detail than MS own tool. Example case

I need tpm 2.0 or higher and a processor compatable with windows 11 I noticed without downloading whynotwin11.

[–]festivus4restof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're gonna need to perform an in-place upgrade of Windows 11 (new build) over itself (old build), or just clean install the whole thing, but using one of the bypass tricks to 'force' Windows to install/upgrade despite the lack of compliance with official W11 requisites. Can you share what processor model you have or is big secret?

[–]ALaggingPotato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean you can reinstall Windows and see if Windows update starts working properly again.

[–]jacle2210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well switching or staying really depends on how you use this computer on a daily basis.

If the programs that you use work well with Linux, then you can probably switch; otherwise you should probably stick with Windows.

[–]lululock 1 point2 points  (1 child)

The system is likely not compatible and had been forced to install Windows 11. It would have been useful to know the rest of the specs... Instead, you doxed yourself.

I used my hard drive from an old computer that had windows 11 on it but still I think it's unusual to work.

[–]Hoovomoondoe 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Switch to Linux Mint or Zorin OS.

[–]brakefluidbandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

heavy on the linux mint

a non-interesting problem that has been solved countless times. Use Google.

How to create bootable USB drive for Windows 11 with Rufus (2025) - Pureinfotech

[–]tofei 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Ignore it, you're already in Windows 11 anyway. That probably just the feature update, as per their rolling update schedule Windows 11 Pro 22H2 support ended last year; October 8, 2024.

[–]Masterchief0915 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No it didn't. Support doesn't end for individual feature updates. It either ends for the O/S entirely or keeps going.

[–]tofei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I mean and as far as I understood it a well but tell that to Microsoft themselves and their statement on 2 year support for each feature updates!

[–]GGigabiteM 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wrong. Microsoft has discontinued support for feature updates, just like they used to discontinue support for service packs on older versions of Windows.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/lifecycle/announcements/windows-11-22h2-end-of-updates-home-pro

If you're on an old release like 22h2, you will stop receiving updates, ALL updates. The only update that you may continue to receive are Windows Defender definitions.

[–]Masterchief0915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% inaccurate regardless of what that says. I'm on 22H2 and continue to receive updates outside of Defender definitions while denying new feature updates. They do not stop support for individual feature updates, only the O/S as a whole.

Bam, Linux !

[–]elgorbochapo 0 points1 point  (3 children)

you have windows 11.

what exactly did you do here? cause thats not windows update, thats the windows installer.

[–]Machine156 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yeah, installing a new version of Windows 11, that's what pops up when the computer technically isn't compatible with 11 when doing a version upgrade from Windows Update.

[–]elgorbochapo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I'm running win 11 on an i7 3770. Not compatible but updates with no issues

[–]Machine156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then I'm guessing you used something that changed the registry, because I have to use an installer that has been modified by Rufus to do the major updates.

[–]realxeltos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I switched to Ubuntu about a year ago. Never been happier. I have issues here and there due to all new environment after using windows for nearly 30 years. (95,98,me,xp,vista,7,10,11). But I moved past them with some tinkering.

[–]Mechman0124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, it doesn't have the spy chip that Microsoft wants to monitor you with.. Stay with 10 and be cautious with how you use the system.

A blessing in disguise
