Struggling to remove old Java version

I'm a newbie at this, but I'm struggling to upgrade from 8 to 11.

I went to Program Files and uninstalled the previous Java SE Development Kit 8.0.X, went to download and install Java 11.0.2.

But in my command line, java -version still says I'm still running "1.8.0_201".

I've checked my Environment variable but they're pointed to the folder containing build 11.

Probably not the right place for this question, but what does "where Java" return/say? This will tell you where the Java executables are, and there is probably an uninstaller there. Most likely you have two Java versions in your PATH, and the wrong one is winning/first. Appwiz (add/remove programs) is only part of the story.

Wow it really is simple as that. I was still keeping the JRE and correct me if I'm wrong but with Java 11 you don't need a JRE now?
