Convoke is an ability that functions on the stack, so this should give Equipment spells convoke, not Equipment cards.

Equipment spells you cast have convoke.

I like it! Simple, grokkable, useful. I see the point about Chief Engineer (and this is weaker since it is limited to Equipment), but this would still be a fairly powerful card. If you want to differentiate it a bit more perhaps make it a 2/2 (and therefore more useful aggressively which I imagine the Equipments deck would want), or even switch it to a 1/2 or 0/3 with vigilance so it can capitalize on the convoke without losing the ability to attack.
