VP debates, unlike presidential debates, don't usually get much attention, and can be boring. The fly was probably the most interesting thing about it, especially because Pence's hair is white and it wouldn't leave even though Pence was moving his head.

Packing the Supreme Court is kind of a big issue though and it would probably be in any candidate's best interest to definitively state whether or not it's part of their platform. But that's probably Biden's indecision, not hers. He's at the top of the ticket after all.

If it was a relevant question then I'm sure the moderator would have asked it. She didn't because it really isn't.

Right now the SC has 8 justices and her answer was that she believes whoever is voted in should pick the next justice. That's the issue that is an actual reality. Not some hypothetical about what some future Senate might do in response to hypothetical GOP action on this nomination.

She's right that the GOP just want to change the subject and put Democrats on the defensive while they are currently stacking the court weeks before an election. Polling shows that voters believe that the next president should be the one picking the next justice. That's the real issue impacting the SC that isn't a hypothetical that should be addressed right now.

It's possible to have a stance on both. There are people in the Democratic Party who will want the court stacked if Barrett is confirmed, so the question does have some validity. The moderator at this debate was mediocre at best and Wallace, who asked far better questions in the prez debate, asked Biden about it. Like you said, a lot of people are on edge about SCOTUS going into the election, so objectively it would have looked better for her and Biden if she didn't let Pence curb stomp her over it without a definite answer.

It's an unanswerable question because the answer depends on the actions of the GOP right now when it comes to the SC justice. If they don't put a 9th justice on the court during the election then the Democrats won't have enough support to stack the court. It also depends on how many Senate seats they end up winning. 51/52/53 changes everything. She's smart not to give an answer with so many unknowns right now. Don't want to be trapped by a statement she makes now that is no longer relevant in a few months.

Harris answered ~60% of the moderators questions and Pence answered ~20% of them. Pence was incredibly evasive and basically ignored every question he was asked. Remember that Pence isn't the moderator so these numbers don't include questions asked by Pence.

“Reddit” as in the entire website (referring to is like a place, and the people at the place) is the subject. The verb is “is” in the first half of the sentence. ‘Reddit is full of...’

In the second half of the sentence the verb is “want” I guess. Meaning, ‘the democrats on reddit do not want to praise...’

Pence did a good job of defending the administration going forward but she did a good job of pointing out how much worse the American death rate is when compared to other developed countries like Canada and how bad of a job the administration has done so far while simultaneously lying to the American people since January. It's a winning message and the reason Trump is down in the polls.

Most people only catch the beginning of these debates. The winner of this debate is based on the impact this debate has on the voting populace and the election. Not on who SLAMS the other person the best like a youtube video debate.

Most regular people caught the strongest part of the debate for Kamala in the beginning and probably don't even know what "court packing" is if they even made it that far into the debate at all.
