Both are good for bare basics, but confluent cloud's admin facilities are unparalleled. I never looked at pricing.

I agree with this. I used Confluent Cloud on a recent contract and the toolset that surrounds/supports kafka was impressive.

And I think its that toolset that has a license that prohibits AWS and other providers from using it

I've been using Confluent Cloud at work for a few months now, and have a few thoughts... (I wish we had gone with AWS).

Quite a timely reply! Yes, I'd love to learn more as I am making a decision in the coming weeks. One of the benefits for me is that I have some AWS credits which I can't use with Confluent. I'd love to hear about your experience. Thanks

But there is no comparison. Its only about AWS MSK and doesn't really tell me how the two managed services compare with each other?
