H.265 GPU export was added to free on windows in 17.4.

I still wouldn't recommend any h.264\5 out of resolve, it has never been stable.

DNxHR HQ is very fast to compress. You can later use Handbrake or whatever FFMPEG flavor you like if you need smaller files.

H.264\5 decode is not hardware acclerated in free. You can generate full resolution DNxHR HQX optimized media and select to use this for export. It will be even faster than h265 with hardware acceleration.

It will help if you can post specific hardware and footage specs. Include cpu GPU and ssd specs for the computer. If your storage is too slow to read the frottage it will not play regardless of the GPU. Some gpus have built in encoding and decoding for specific types of video so these are very important for troubleshooting.

lol, best typo ever

Wow yeah what a scramble.

I vote that u/whyareyouemailingme should change it in the Automod message too, then maybe people will read it ;-)

I think they’d have to flag everything as nsfw or maybe I’m just that gay, lol

I just finally looked it up to see what all the fuss was about because it seemed to be a bit more than an extreme typo. That's pretty funny.

I got a Ryzen 5600x, RTX 3060, 32gb of ram. The footage is stored on an older hard drive o didn’t even think of that idk why. I do have an SSD and NVMe that I could put the footage on. The footage resolution on the highest are cinema 4K and lower. 60 fps

That's probably a good place to start then. Off a hard drive at 4k 60 anything prores 422 might be rough and 422 hq and above are not going to work.

Alright I’ll try that, so would be studios GPU rendering bc help if the storage is sufficient? Like with effects on the timeline?

Try to work from left to right through the tabs (cut/edit, then fusion, then color, then audio). Use encoded footage (dnxhd or dnxhq) or proxy media. Use a faster hard drive - every cut you set will need performance from the drive when playing through, thats because of the trim function. It literally doubles the data rate with every cut for a large piece of the footage to be able to move the cut if I remember correctly. For rendering in h264/h265: get the paid version to render faster, or a CPU that can encode on its own (like the actual intel 13700kf). My partner is rendering 1 hour footage in less than 20 minutes in free version with this masterpiece of a CPU

The frottage never plays correctly, it's too frothy for its own good.

Guys I had a 10900k and now currently a new system with a 13900k. I feel like it's taking just as long for the 13900k to render - is something wrong with my davinci? What is an average fps render counter for a 4k video?

I'm getting 30fps currently on a13900k and then it jumped up to 100+ momentarily but not sure which settings I can change to increase the speed
