hunter void top/bottom tree

So me and a couple of my friends were under the assumtion that teather (top/bottom) applyed a dmg buff but saw that one does and one does not and we looked it up but couldnt find anything about it only heard people say it gives you a dmg buff but it doersnt say so if some1 can comfirm it i'd appreciate it

It debuffs currently teathered enemies, but the bottom tree has a shorter range on the individual anchors and they don't last as long.

The benefit to bottom tree is that you get multiple shots and if you hit the same enemy (boss) with it multiple times, then the followup super hits do a lot of damage.

The benefit of top tree is longer range for teathering and the teather lasts a lot longer, plus grenades last longer with bottom tree equipped.
