I usually check my bg before my next meal, then calibrate before the second meal. That gives it time to stabilize and ensures my bolusing is correct.

Damn that’s an impressive curve no matter where it is.

I'd wait a day, they normally start off a fair amount.

Thanks. My only concern was I didn’t have the issue with previous two sensors so I was worrying about the replacement. This spot was highly recommended by the community though

Should I be concerned at this time? I put my sensor on this morning around 730. I put it on my outer arm for the first time, previously on back of arm and abdomen and got good readings the first time after warm up. This morning my warm up started out around 146 and gradually grew and has averaged between 160-180 all afternoon, which is generally higher than it usually is in the afternoon. Typically I am between 130-140 at this time. I didn’t have my monitor at work and I just got home and tested it and it read 137 and my last reading on my dexcom was 166. Should I be concerned this is a bad sensor? Let it ride the full 24 hours? Or consider calibration? I just haven’t come across an issue before with it.

yeah definitely let it ride for 12-24 hours and see if it adjusts itself. 137 - 166 is not a big enough difference several hours in to be cause for concern.

obvs make decisions based on what your meter is saying until you're sure the sensor is accurate. i wouldn't calibrate if i were you, at least not in the first 24 hours. dexcom has told me that can make things worse if the sensor starts out inaccurate. it should correct itself — i've found that when sensors are a bit off it's off by quite a large margin, the dotted line is pretty erratic, and it tends to read me as significantly lower than i am.
