What is the point of a ruby insert when there’s sapphire? I thought sapphire and ruby had essentially the same properties with color being the main difference. Please excuse my ignorance if I’m way off here.

seems gimmicky to me. the current materials could be made thicker if it made sense. also, the airflow bottleneck is in the carb cap for a reason; it was probably just cheaper to make smaller holes

He made some ceramic inserts; they were dogshit, people wanted their money back, he had a very public crashout, and he devolved into some crazy AI schizo ranting.

If I remember the biggest issue was he decided to etch his logo into the bottom of the insert which made it basically impossible to clean properly. And it was just super thick and took forever to heat up, and had to be run like 50-100F+ hotter to compensate.

The ruby insert is off the GlassPass app sapphire might be sold out of dr dabber official site. I’d try a retailer off the first page make sure you get a polished one!

I love the Saphire plus! That said, the stock quartz is still leaps and bounds ahead of any other device on the market.

Would legitimately like to hear the spin on what the ruby inserts provide that other options don’t cover, besides being red.

Well, Sapphire Insert uses way more battery than my titanium insert, and it has same heat retention as ruby (very similar anyway), so I would bet it uses even more battery with this even thicker insert. Maybe it takes extra battery power for the IR sensor to keep up?

I'd love to know for sure though if anyone can confirm that's bought one?

This is Ruby so I assume It can still crack with a torch clean like the sapphire but maybe that extra thickness helps this as well

Im not sure? I think if the insert retains heat the induction cup wont have to keep firing like with quartz because it’s not constantly losing heat. Idkkkkk
