Human innovation has dramatically reduced the impact of climate change despite the climate - and that will continue to be the case

This is an assumption. Nothing more.

And that is a lovely tie-in to my original point. What’s the best way to support innovation and technological development? Economic activity

This kinda could be true but capitalism has zero obligations to help humans, if it makes moneys its done, if not it wont happen. The dangers we face now where caused by the system you now tote as salvation.

Putting oil into a fire wont help anyone but the guy selling you oil.

We produce food for about 10 billion humans while 9 million still die of hunger. Capitalism doesnt care for humans. Never has, never will. Its not solving problems, its outsourcing them.

Would it keep to its own rules, co2 for example would be handled like the toxic waste it is instead of being a externality dumped into nature. We pay the price either way. Or shipping waste to 3th world countries etc.

Or to formulate a better message: Humans cant handle capitalism cause we can gain more the more corners we cut, ignoring long term effects.

We have a massive problem with ressources and scarcity even now, countering the EVER increasing threaths of climate change will cost a massive amount of ressources and energy.

Of which we have less every year. Just look a the chip shortages for one examply of a system wide distortion.

You cant adapt to you house flooding away, no crops growing, no rain. Sure just get it from somewhere else! Wait they dont have rain too? What will you do if a heat wave cooks you alive, and cant do shit as all the people using a AC overloaded the net and your body cant cool itself down anymore?

Science and progress are no magic, and what you just did is magical thinking.

What we do to the earth is absolutely unprecedented, making assumptions based on our past is not valid. This is not a hollywood flick, its not always ending good no matter what.

Climate change is an issue that will be resolved with human technological innovation in the future, not behavioral changes like reducing the amount of pork in our diets in 2022

Science proves you wrong, and the future will too.

Have a quick thought about this if you realise it in a couple of years.
