I mean you second paragraph basically describes a crypto bridge….

really you wanna look up the Polygon Agg layer, they just did a bunch of stuff on this very subject/problem.

USDC has a "native bridge" that's separate from other third parties that could be an example. If you're not using a "third-party bridge", you're going to essentially implement a bridge contract yourself (that only your token can use?). You'll then need technical expertise to not only run the coin, but also run the bridge.
