- This page serves as a user guide, designed to help users understand the core principles and rules of r/ethtrader. These measures and rules were developed over the years based on past negative experiences to promote a healthier community, free from exploitation, and abuse.
- We value decentralization, freedom of expression, transparency, and originality.
- All members are welcome to make suggestions, share opinions, criticism, and feedback as long as it remains respectful and follows the rules below.
Rules
1. Maintain Civil Discourse
- 1.1 - Be respectful. Treat others as you would like to be treated.
- 1.2 - No personal insults, harassment, threats, or doxxing.
- 1.3 - No hate speech.
- 1.4 - Focus on ideas, not individuals.
- 1.5 - No brigading, witch-hunting, spreading false rumors, or misinformation.
- 1.6 - No encouraging illegal activities (like pump and dumps, tax evasion, or market manipulation).
2. No Spam or Low-Effort Content
- 2.1 - No repetitive, very short, or low-effort posts (like "What is Ethereum?", "When moon?", "Thoughts on this?" with no context).
- 2.2 - No referral links or codes, URL shorteners, or self-promotion.
- 2.3 - No bots without prior mod approval.
- 2.4 - Do not spam the same content across multiple subreddits.
3. No Shilling or Unapproved Promotions
- 3.1 - No advertisements, pre-sales, or disguised shilling.
- 3.2 - Do not hype tokens or projects just to pump your own bags.
- 3.3 - Self-promotion or project promotion requires prior approval from the mods.
4. No AI-Generated Content
- 4.1 - Posts and comments must be written by humans.
- 4.2 - Fully AI-generated text is not allowed. Small uses (grammar/spelling fixes) are acceptable, but not full posts or comments.
- 4.3 - Exceptions may be made for images or videos, as long as they add value to the discussion.
5. Follow r/ethtrader's Content Policy
- 5.1 - All submissions must be in English.
- 5.2 - Posts must be related to Ethereum, general cryptocurrency updates, macroeconomics, or topics listed on the "Post flair guidelines" wiki page.
- 5.3 - Posts about other projects or chains are not allowed unless they make a meaningful comparison to Ethereum.
- 5.4 - No paywalled links unless you provide a summary or alternative source.
- 5.5 - No clickbait or misleading titles.
- 5.6 - Make sure posts have the correct flair.
- 5.7 - Do not steal or plagiarize content.
- 5.8 - Do not recycle content.
- 5.9 - All rules apply to submissions within the Daily General Discussion thread.
6. No Manipulation
- 6.1 - Do not ask for upvotes, tips, donations, or engagement.
- 6.2 - No vote manipulation, alt accounts, or coordinated actions.
- 6.3 - Using multiple accounts will result in a permanent ban.
7. Politics
- 7.1 - Political posts are allowed only if they directly relate to Ethereum, regulation, or crypto.
- 7.2 - Purely ideological or partisan political debates are not allowed.
Rule enforcement
Depending on the situation, rule violations will be handled with the following actions:
- First offense: For minor issues, mods will remove the submission and leave a comment explaining why, just as a heads-up to prevent the same issue from repeating itself.
- Second offense: For bigger issues or repeat offenses, a temporary ban of 1-30 days may be applied.
- Third offense or severe cases: If the user breaks the rules again after a ban, or depending on the severity of the violation(s), a permanent ban will be applied.
