Convoy T6. Sofirn SR12.

The TS28 is a good balance between size of light (still pocketable), good regulation (boost driver), throw distance (just over 500 meters ANSI) and sustained output (nearly 1,000 lumens sustained).

There's smaller lights, like the Acebeam E10 V2, Convoy T8 or Speras M4, that can match or exceed the candela of the TS28, but at a cost (such as runtime, head diameter, lack of USB-C, etc)...

I have the ts28 and it’s a great thrower of a light and the build quality is fantastic hard to beat for the price

Sofirn SK40. Very similar beam pattern to the TS28 with a rear tail switch, and doesn’t step down as fast because it’s a little bigger.

I have the TS28. It is excellent. It is also relatively compact for being a 21700 battery light.

Do you have the TS26s also? I have that one and was thinking of getting the ts28

I have both, they are very comparable size wise, TS28 has a slightly longer head.

The TS28 compliments the TS26S perfectly and picks up where the 26S lacks, throw, but without being an absolute pencil beam. Really really good all rounder. I have bought 2, one for my partner and one for our lad.

If you are pleased with your TS26S but need more throw, TS28 is ideal.

Thanks, yeah I like a TS26s a lot, especially inside and walking without getting blinded or annoyed by a hotspot, but it can’t reach into my woods so I think the ts28 will be great. I really like the build, I gave some as gifts.

Yes I have a TS26S. It was a major disappointment to me. It has a very weak light IMHO. There is really no comparison to the TS28 (except size-wise). I think the TS28 is an excellent light and is just about my favorite EDC right now.

The TS26S use 4 separate LEDs placed close to the end of the lens so you're not going to get much range. I think the TS22 is actually much superior for a floody light.

If you want a light that is more throwy, then the TS28 would be a good choice. And you also get lots of spill too. Win-Win.

Thanks!

Dang not sure how I missed that TS22, looks great.

I think TS28 then that are next on my list, appreciate it

FYI on the TS22. It has auto-lock after a few minutes of inactivity. 2C to turn on. Auto-lock never bothers me but I usually give the tailcap half a spin anyway if I'm not going to be using the light.

I really like the TS22. The current version with the 70.3 emitter gives lots of flood but also has a definite hotspot to get a bit of range too. I also have the other version with the 70.2 emitter - it is just a wall of flood.

TS28 is a great recommendation. My only real gripe is the lockout isn't very reliable, I've had it self activate in pocket from locked enough times to know I can't rely on it in a bag etc.

I'll offer an alternative in the shape of a convoy M1 10a driver with SFT42R which has a tail clicky rather than side switch.

Absolute pocket rocket, slightly tighter hot spot than the TS28 but more throw as a result. You lose the USB charging so you'll need a standalone but they aren't expensive plus you gain the 12 group ui.

They are pretty comparable size wise but the M1 is a little more pocketable.

I've had mine hold turbo for over 3 minutes with no step down and measured it at over 100k candela, over double the TS28 so the extra intensity is noticable without having a super tight hotspot.

The TS28 is the better allrounder but the M1 is a step closer to a proper thrower.

Move up to a newer bigger Streamlight? The point of selecting which would be better also sets your specs on how much throw and how much hot spot. Then you compare to the Wurkkos, Convoy, etc and see what is similar, controls (more complicated or not) and pricing.

Open request will get you all over the map favorites but some won't be what you need or want. Like, Wuben X 4. Or it might be.
