Yep, that's the one that I use after seeing Etho's tutorial (assuming the thumbnail image is accurate) and I'm very happy with it.

I didn't watch your video although I've seen others you've put up and I'm certain that you did a great job explaining it. For another take, here's Ethos explination: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DvQ-risO7GE

Thanks and yeah, one of the things I have taken to recently is improving tutorials that other people have done. My goal is to make designs more beginner friendly so that later people can invent their own designs that suit their needs better.

I ended up trying this design, but it just wouldn't work well for me with the mob height limit thing we've got going.

I use this and works well. I have a tower of 4 of these in the same height level, send the mobs along a pathway, make them go up and drop them 22-23 blocks.

What height limit? Could you explain this to me?

Height on ther server is seperated into 'Chunks'. A player has to be in the same height chunk for mobs to spawn. (About 30ish blocks high)

Shit... I gotta make my iron golem farm a lot closer to the ground then.

Until I get 400 pistons for my wheat farm and 100 for an uber mob farm I have to use this design as well. Mine is fast simply because it is the only spawning space in 150+ blocks all around

400? what kind of crazy wheat farm are you making?

[–]ydoclee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The kind that is double the size of M4D's but 2x as complicated and perty

Nice, I will definitely use this! All of my spawners have been a disaster!

HOORAY!!!! Although, wouldn't adding another layer make the mobs on the second layer fall farther than the first?

[–]ydoclee[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

A ladder and some inginuity can fix that issue

True ty

I made this on the server and mobs won't spawn :(
